Sprinkled with Love

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie our challenge hostess for the month finishes off her month with one last challenge.

This week Rebecca has given us an Inspiration Challenge - be inspired by this photo. Please use a cake or mint/aqua, coral, gold and white or ivory. Brownie points for doing both

Rebecca has given us the option of either mint or aqua in the color combo, so I went for aqua on my card as I knew I had inks and cardstock etc that would coordinate.

As I had recently picked up the new Sprinkles Turnabout from Concord & 9th, I wanted to play with that for my background this week. So I stamped it onto my ivory cardstock using two colors rather than 4. I still stamped it out 4 times, just alternated between the aqua and the coral inks.

For my card I have used the Snowman Twist Circle Pop-up card (without the snowman) from Karen Burniston for the base of my card. I was able to join two 6 x 6 pieces of decorated cardstock together to create the base of my card.  I then layered this piece onto a piece of folded coral cardstock. I have attached the circle layer of the twist circle to the upper part of the arm rather than the lower section, doing this allows you to display the card standing upright rather than lying down.

I used both the large and small cupcakes from Karen's Cupcake Pop-up die set, I die cut the frosting from gold cardstock so that I used the 'gold' needed for the challenge somewhere on my card. Once I had assembled all my cupcakes I decorated the frosting using Nuvo drops.

I added two of the sentiments from the Sprinkles Turnabout stamp set to the inside of my card.

For the front of my card I used another piece of background paper that I created using the Sprinkles Turnabout stamp set.

I used the largest label from the Katherine Label Pop-up set to cut a piece of ivory cardstock and two from coral cardstock. I then cut one of the coral pieces in half vertically and the other horizontally and layered them behind the ivory label so I had a border all around.

Using masking I stamped the "Sprinkled with Love" sentiment which is normally a two line sentiment (like those on the inside of the card) so that it was a single line and die cut the sentiment using a banner die.

Here is one final photo showing my card as it is closing, the circle part of the card "twists" to the opposite direction as it closes.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Thankful for Each Moment with You

    Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Kelly McKown-Santi our challenge hostess for the month finishes off the month with one last challenge.

In honour of Johnny Appleseed day and his kindness and generosity, create a card with anything apple related ... apple trees, apple pies etc.

Seeing I had just received my order of Lawn Fawn stamps/dies the week I made my challenge card of course I had to play with some of the new products.

I knew I wanted to make a Shadow Box card using the new die set, and one of the new stamp sets (Forest Feast) contained an apple image ... so I decided to do something with those .... plus the fox from Upon a Star just for good measure!

For the background (the blue) ... I used Distress Oxides to create the sky. As can see by the angle of this photo I added apples to a couple of the creatures and onto the grassy hills.

Another view of my shadow box.

I added a sentiment to the back of the shadow box.

Of course the shadow box folds flat, so you can place it in an envelope for posting!

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

    Boo Halloween Window Scene Card

    Hi Crafty Friends,

As it is just over a month until Halloween, I thought I would share another Halloween card today.

This card uses some of the new Halloween die sets from Elizabeth Craft Designs as well as the new window from Susan's Garden.

The base of my card is 5 1/2 inches square to which I adhered a piece of designer paper which was 5 1/4 inches square.

To the centre of the of the front of the card I lined up one of the squares from the Stitched Squares die set ... the square is approximately the same size as the inner part of the window.

Once you have die cut the square from the front of the card you have a square window.

Die cut two windows from the Garden Notes Square Window & Flower Box. Line the window up against the hole in the front of the card. (trim if necessary). Adhere one window to the front of the card and the other to the back of the front of the card.

Die cut the two ghosts from the Ghosts die set and adhere them to the back of the front of the card so that they are peeking out of the window.

Die cut the "Boo" sentiment and adhere to the lower right hand corner of the card.

Die cut the cat from the Haunted House die set and adhere to the lower left hand corner of the card.

Here is another look at the front of the card so you can see it at a different angle.

For the inside of the card cut a piece of Soft Finish Cardstock 5 /14 inches square. Apply Wilted Violet Distress Oxide and Black Soot Distress Oxide all over the card and spritz with water.

Die cut a circle from the Fitted Circles die set and sponge with Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide. Adhere circle to upper right hand corner of the card, so it can been seen when the card is closed. Die cut witch and adhere over moon.

Using the hill from the Adventure Edges die set, die cut from black cardstock and adhere to bottom of card.

Die cut Haunted House from black cardstock, cover the windows with yellow cardstock. Adhere to card.

Die cut three bats from the Halloween Scenery die set and adhere to card.

Elizabeth Craft Designs Winter Sweater Blog Hop

    Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to my blog, and the Elizabeth Craft Designs Winter Sweater Blog Hop. Today the Elizabeth Craft Designs Design Team are having a special blog hop featuring the Winter Sweater die set.

The hop started on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog, so if you just happened to hop onto my blog you may want to head over there now so you can start at the beginning of the hop. You do want to miss anything and there is lots to see!

As I love owls, I decided to create a card featuring an owl on the sweater. You can never go wrong with an owl!!!!!

For my card today I have die cut the Winter Sweater using one of the papers from the ModaScrap Manly Man 6 x 6 Pattern Paper Pack. To decorate my sweater, I have used one of the owls from the Give a Hoot clear stamp set and coordinating dies. I colored the owl to match the papers I used for the layers on my card which are from the same paper pack.

I used the Stitched Circles, Dotted Scallop Circles and Fitted Circles for the circle layers on my card and the Stitched Squares and Dotted Scallop Squares for the base.

To the large circle on the top left hand side of the card I added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Copper Penny and Neptune Turquoise.

I stamped just the word "Hoot" from one of the sentiments included in the If Animals Could Talk sentiment set which has been stamped and layered to a fishtail banner using the Stitched Fishtail Banners die set.

For the inside of my card used the Stitched Squares and Dotted Scallop Squares and added stripes of paper that were left over after die cutting the square on the front of the card. I added sentiment from If Animals Could Talk & General Sentiments Clear Stamp sets.

To finish the card I added two additional owls to my card.

Well that is about it from me today, thank you for dropping by. To continue on the blog hop, click on the next person on the list which is Sanna Lippert.

    Hello Little One

    Hi Crafty Friends,

Did you know that  Elizabeth Craft Designs release some new stamps recently, you can see them all here. I have been so wanting to play with the new ModaScrap stamps that were some of the stamps released so as my stamps arrived last week I was able to play with one of the stamp sets, this one is called Color of Puppies Boy.

These stamps also have coordinating dies you can purchase if you wish, but for my card today I just went with some masking to create a fun party scene. I die cut a rectangle using the Stitched Rectangles die set and then stamped the Alligator and Hippo, masked those and then stamped the zebra and lion. These two animals were also masked so I could stamps the balloons and sponge in the brick wall behind them which is a stencil. Finally I created a footpath for them to stand on.

I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the image using VersaMark ink and white embossing powder.

I added Clear Glitter Wink of Stella pen to each of the balloons and then I added Glossy Accents to them all.

For the inside I added two strips of the patterned paper that I used on the front of the card and added Peel Off Stickers along the edge of each strip.

I stamped a sentiment from the Birthday Sentiment onto green cardstock and white embossed it. I then die cut the sentiment using the coordinating die.

    Have A Claw-some Birthday

    Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing an Easel Card I created using Lawn Fawn's You're Claw-some and Mama Elephant's Cat's Meow stamp sets.

To create my card, I carefully did a little surgery on my Claw machine to remove the teddies, in the machine. This will make it easier for me to add whatever I want into the machine. I then masked the sides of the machine to stamp the cats inside. I stamped a single cat which I placed into the slot that the toys inside the machine come out of if you are lucky to get anything out haha.

For the base of the easel I added a sentiment, a few more cats and the "Happy" Balloons which is from Mama Elephant's Celebration Balloons stamp set.

Here is a look at the front of the card when it is folded ready to be placed in an envelope.

Stamps:  You're  Clawsome - Lawn Fawn; The Cat's Meow; Celebration Balloons - Mama Elephant

    Happy Snappy Birthday

    Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Let's make an interactive card. There are so many cool dies out there for slider,  shaker, pop-up, spinner, lift-a-flap and so many more. if you don't have dies, many of these cards can also be built by hand the way we did it before all the dies! These cards bring so much joy to the recipient! And they are tons of fun to make!

Of course the hardest part of this challenge for me was which type of interactive card would I make! Any one who knows me, knows how much I love interactive cards and I have so many different dies to make so many different types of cards ... these are my favorite dies ever!!!

In the end I decided to make a Twist Circle Pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Snowman Twist Circle Pop-up die set. I think I changed my mind three or four times, before I finally made a decision LOL!

I did this card a little differently for a change, adding the circle to the upper section of the arm rather than the lower section, so that the card is view how a card would normally stand. I saw a card using this idea that fellow Karen Burniston Design Team member, Fran Sabad created a few weeks ago and had to give it a try and love it.

This time around I am playing with some new stamps from a brand new company .... Happy Sanppy Crocs from Heffy Doodle. I actually ended up using some sentiments and images from a couple of other stamp sets from this company to complete my card

I used the Nature Edges die set to create the grass panels along the bottom of the card.

For the front of the card, I added two more of the cute crocodiles. The banners the croc is holding is from the Elephant of Surprise stamp set also from Heffy Doodle. I also added a banner border along the top right hand corner.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

You're the Pumpkin Spice in my Latte.

    Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing my second card I created for the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop which has been running since Friday 15th September to Friday 22nd September.

Since I ordered the Lawn Fawn Pumpkin Spice stamp set recently and it was sitting here, I might as well make a card using that stamp set for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I have had in my head for a while to combine it with the awesome tree stump from the Forest Feast stamp set.

As you can see I have created a pop-up card. I used the small pop up die from the Karen Burniston Tree Pop-up die set  which I die cut three times across the back of the card for my stump. I added the pumpkin spice latte onto the stump and added a piece of acetate to the shaker so it appears like it is magically been shaken into the coffee.

I added grass from the Natures Edges die set to hid any part of the pop up showing under the stump and also along the back  edge a the very front of the bottom panel.

I added the sentiment sfrom the stamp sets in one long line and die cut it out using the Everyday Sentiments Banner die set.

Along the top of the card I added a banner and stamped the word "COFFEE" onto the flags.

At the beginning of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, Craftin Desert Divas offered this cute owl free, which of course being an owl lover I had to grab! So I decided to make use of it on the front of the card seeing both images were pumpkin related. I did add the face to the cup which is from the Lawn Fawn stamp set and also added the shaker seeing I had already stamped and cut out another one.

I always need birthday cards, so decided to turn this into a birthday card by creating a sentiment "a latte birthday wishes" (a lot of birthday wishes). The label and 'a latte' sentiment are both from The Stamps of Life and for the 'birthday wishes' I combined stamps from Avery Elle's Sentimental and Sentiment Too stamp sets.

I added Black Nuvo Drops to the eyes on both cups.

Stamps:  Pumpkin Spice; Forest Feast - Lawn Fawn; Happy Fall Digital Stamp - Craftin Desert Divas; Coffee4Two - Stamps of Life; Sentimental; Sentimental Too - Avery Elle; Alphabet - MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Green; Cedar DP - Kaisercraft; Green DP - DCWV
Dies: Tree Pop-up; Nature Edges - Karen Burniston;  Banners - Elizabeth Craft Designs; Circle Stax - MFT Stamps; Coffee4Two Die Set - Stamps of Life
Other: Black Ink; Acetate; Nuvo Ebony Black Gloss Crystal Drops; Foam Tape; Copics
