Chocolate Easter Eggs

Hi everyone,

It’s my turn to post a project on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today. With only a week until Easter, I decided to create an Easter card using Joset Designs Easter Eggs die and the Els van de Burgt Studio Stitched Rectangles. I couldn't help to add some green to my card using the new Through the Lens Wood Patterned Cardstock.

Here is how I created my card:

1. Using the smallest rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles die set, die cut two stitched rectangles from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sponge around the edge of the rectangles using green ink.

  • Counting from the small centre die, die cut two of the second die from the Fitted Rectangles die set from White Soft Finish Cardstock.
  • Layer the white rectangle onto the brown rectangle.

2. Counting from the small centre die, die cut the fifth die from the Stitched Rectangles die set from the green patterned cardstock included in the Through the Lens Wood Patterned Cardstock.
  • Adhere the small rectangles we created in step 1 to the top left and bottom right edges. You should have approx 1/4 inch overhang from each rectangle on the patterned cardstock, trim off the overhang.
  • Using the second largest rectangle from the Fitted Rectangles die set, die cut a rectangle from brown cardstock. Layer the patterned paper panel to the brown rectangle.

3. Using White Soft Finish Cardstock, cut a piece of card that measures 4 1/4 inches x 11 inches. Score along the long side at 5 1/2 inches and fold.
  • Sponge around the edge of the front of the card using green ink.
  • Adhere the panel we created in step 2 to the front of the card.

4. Using the Easter Eggs die set die cut the following:

  • (3) Solid Small Easter Eggs from White Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front.
  • (3) Heart Detail Small Easter Eggs from White Soft Finish Cardstock
  • (3) Grass from left over patterned paper used front of card.

  • Remove the protective backing from the Solid Easter Egg, carefully apply the detail layer onto the solid egg being careful not to touch the adhesive. Cover the adhesive with Chocolate Silk Microfine Glitter, remove excess and polish glitter with finger.
  • Attach two of the Easter Eggs & Grass to small rectangle panels as per photo above using foam tape.

5. The Inside of the Card:

  • Counting from the small centre die, die cut the fifth die from the Stitched Rectangles die set from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sponge around the edges of the rectangle using green ink.
  • Using the second largest rectangle from the Fitted Rectangles die set, die cut a rectangle from brown cardstock. Layer the white rectangle to the brown rectangle.
  • Layer this panel to the inside of the card.
  • Sponge around the edge of the inside of the card using green ink.

6. Adhere the remaining Easter Egg and grass to the lower right hand corner of card.

7. Die cut the "happy" from the A Way With Words - Happy Birthday 2 die set from white cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front.
  • Remove the protective layer from the word and cover the adhesive from Spring Peridot Silk Microfine Glitter. Remove excess glitter and polish die cut using your finger.
  • Adhere the sentiment to the top portion of the white panel on the inside of card.

8. Cut out the word "Easter" from the Happy Easter Peel Off Sticker, position the word "Easter" underneath the letter "h" of the word "happy". Refer to photo above for placement.
