Happy Birthday!

C4C201Buttons&Bows-wm

Hello everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Our challenge hostess for August Jessie Rone finishes off the month with another fun challenge!

This week Jessie has challenged us to create a card/project  using Buttons and Bows-use buttons and bows on your card, but you have to use both.

C4C201Buttons&Bows2-wm

As you can see I have created another Centre Step card using Cheery Lynn Designs Step Card Template Die … love love love this die! I used Loralie Designs Birthday Beauty stamp set.

Hopefully the loopy hemp pieces behind each of my buttons count as bows, if not there are plenty of bows on the presents of the stamps I used hehe!

I paper pieced the girls dress and hat using designer paper.

Here is the inside of my card … I used designer paper for the inside panel and stamped my sentiment and cake image.

Merry Christmas

Tree-PNC-Flying-Easel-wm

Hi everyone,

Earlier this month Karen Burniston posted a Pop 'n Cuts Flying Easel card on her blog that she created for one of her classes for the UStamp with Dawn and Friends: Cards With Cool Moves online classes.

Of course I loved Karen’s card so here is my version of her card. I decided to go with a Christmas theme and used the Sizzix Christmas Tree Framelits inside of the butterfly that Karen used on her card.

Tree-PNC-Flying-Easel2-wm

This card uses Karen’s SU Exclusive Pop N Cuts Card Base and also the Sizzix Funky Labels Framelits.

To create the Christmas Tree I used the smallest tree in the Sizzix Christmas Tree Framelits set and die cut 4 trees from designer paper. I then folded each of the trees in half and glued them back to back onto each other, placing some hemp twine in the middle as the hanger. I also added some colored rhinestones to each of the trees to pretty it up a little.

I added a button to the label on the base of my card which helps keep the front of the card in it’s folded upright position … so I can either use the top of the framelit or the bottom to keep it open.

Here is my card when it is folded closed … the Christmas tree can be folded flat so it will be suitable to be placed in an envelope to be mailed if needed.

Stamps: Merry Christmas – Victoria’s Secret
Paper: Burgundy; Green; Belle Collection DP – Kaisercraft
Other: Burgundy Ink; Green Ink; Sizzix Christmas Tree Framelits; Sizzix Funky Labels Framelits; SU Exclusive Pop N Cuts Card Base; Hemp Cord; Ribbon; Button; Foam Tape

‘Stache Tastic

CCEE1335CrackedGlassMoustac

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Vicky Gould our challenge hostess for the month of August finishes off her month with one last challenge.

Vicky says she hasn’t done cracked glass technique in ages….so this week our challenge is to use cracked glass on a vintage card. You can find a tutorial on the Cracked Glass Technique over on Splitcoast Stampers.

It has been ages since I have done the cracked glass technique too … and I was so busy focusing on that that I didn’t read the last part of the challenge until I copied it onto this post … oops … hopefully my card has a vintage look.

For my card this week I used the Flava Sava stamp set from There She Goes to create a Slider Card. I recently discovered that The Rubber Cafe has a die to help create this style of card (thanks to Kristine Reynolds who has been using this die lots recently LOL). Of course loving all things construction I had to purchase the die and it definitely helps creating this style of card.

CCEE1335-CrackedGlass-Moust

Here is another view of my card. On the hidden panel which is revealed when you pull up the panel at the top … I have used the sentiment I moustache (must ask) you a question. When I was looking through my birthday stamps looking for something to put on the sliding panel at the top I discovered the sentiment “You’re How Old?” which seemed the perfect question to use on this card .

Here is my card closed ready to be placed in an envelope. You can also get a better view of my cracked glass piece. I stamped the moustaches onto designer paper and then applied the embossing powder to get the cracked glass effect.

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Stamps: Flava Sava – There She Goes; You’re How Old? – Stamp It
Paper: Brown; Sugar Hill DP – Farmhouse Paper Co
Other: Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk; Ulta Thick Embossing Powder; The Rubber Cafe Easy Slider Card Die; MFT Die-namics Fishtail Flags Stax; Brown Hemp Cord; Eyelet

Chuffed It’s Your Birthday!

Cuffed-Birthday-wm

Hi everyone,

Today I am playing with a digital stamp I discovered recently … as my DH and Grandson both love trains I just had to buy this cute image. The image is from Imagine That! Digis by Kris. This Digital set includes the image in both color & black and white in png & jpg format, various sentiments and also some signs and train track.

Cuffed-Birthday2-wm

As you can see I have created another Centre Step card using the new Step Card Template Die from Cheery Lynn Designs … I am loving this new die. I have always loved creating Centre Step cards but this die makes it even easier … no measuring and cutting what can be better than that.

I used the boy on the train image as well as a sentiment and RR sign which were all included in the digi stamp kit. Along the bottom of my card I added some train tracks using Taylored Expressions Train Track Border die.

Cuffed-Birthday3-wm

Here is the inside of my card … I combined a sentiment and the digi train track image from the digi set for the inside of my card and die cut this using the inside panel from the Step Card Template Die. Along the bottom of my card I added the train tracks (from Taylored Expressions Train Track Border Die) and also added a train which is from Cheery Lynn Designs.

Stamps: L’il Train Conductor Digi Set – Imagine That! Digis By Kris
Paper: White; Blue; On The Go DP – Bo Bunny
Other: MFT Die-namics Circle Stax; MFT Die-namics Fishtail Flags; Taylored Expressions Train Track Border; Cheery Lynn Designs Step Card Template Die; Cheery Lynn Designs Choo Choo; Foam Tape; Copics

You’re A Hoot!

C4C200-OwlPopUpBoxCard-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week our August challenge hostess Jessie Rone continues to bring us a fun challenge.

For our challenge this week Jessie has challenged us to Animals-use animals on your card.

C4C200-OwlPopUpBoxCard2-wm

No big surprise I guess that the animal I decided to use for this challenge was an owl … haha! This owl is a new (to me) die I discovered while shopping in my fav scrapbook store recently. It’s an Owl die by Ellison, they actually didn’t have any on the shelf when I saw it, only a card so when I asked I was told they had packed them to take to a show in Melbourne … so of course they had to bring one back so I could have it. Smile

I have lots of fun styles of cards on my to do list and this is one that has been one there for a little while and is called a Pop Up Box card. I found a couple of places online with instructions on how to create these … the first the box ended up being a little larger, so I ended up using a tutorial I found on A Star for Chemi’s blog which you can find here. You will also find a link to the original tutorial on there too if you are interested.

C4C200-OwlPopUpBoxCard3-wm

Here is my card again, this time folded flat so it can be placed in an envelope or box to give to someone.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Stamps: Bugsy & Owly – Penny Black; You Know Who! – Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps
