Hi everyone,
It’s Wednesday which means it’s time for this week’s Wednesday Stamp Club sketch over on the MFT Stamps Member Forum of SCS. It’s another fun sketch … of course Smile

GetSketchy_DesignTeamblinkie

For my card this week I have used two Western themed stamps sets from MFT Stamps. The main image is from the Inspired by the Wild Wild West stamp set as is the sentiment. For the main image I have stamped and layered it using the Die-namics Circle Stax 1 & 2.  I used the LJD Howdy stamp set to create the woodgrain background on the Die-namics Notched Tag.

I have used Kraft and Hot Fudge cardstock on my card.

MFTWSC113-Western-wm

Here is the inside of my card. I have again used the LJD Howdy stamp set for the sentiment and the woodgrain background. The sentiment has been stamped onto one of the frames from the Die-namics LJD Howdy Frames set. Along the bottom of my card I used the Die-namics Western Star Border Duo .

Here are the MFT Products I used on my card this week:

It’s also challenge day for the Cornish Heritage Farms design team, and this week our hostess is Cindy Haffner who has challenged us to include doilies on our card/project.

Today I have two canvases to share with you, the canvases each measure 4 inches x 4 inches. I have had these canvases for I don’t know how long and haven’t used them and I thought it was about time I did.

For my first canvas above I used stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms Haute Couture and Antiques.
I have been having so much fun playing with the Faber-Castell Gelatos for this blog hop and that is what I have used on everything on this canvas today. It is amazing what you can do with the gelatos.

First up I used the Guava & Bubblegum from the Red Gelatos pack to color the canvas … this was just a matter of randomly apply some of each color on the canvas and then blending this all together using my finger. The doily on the left side of the canvas was also colored using the Guava Gelato and then blended with my finger. I colored the outfits of the girls using gelatos from the Red pack (guava, lavender and bubblegum) and Grape from the Blue pack. I used the Red Cherry gelato also from the Red pack to stamp one of the elements from the Haute Couture directly onto the canvas. The flowers are also colored using the gelatos …. I scribbled a little onto my craft mat and added a little water and then dipped the flowers through the mixture.

Stamps: Haute Couture; Antiques – Cornish Heritage Farms
Other: Red Gelatos; Blue Gelatos (Faber-Castell); Couture Creations Blossom Yarn Doily; Canvas

CHF-Cat-Canvas-wm

For my second Canvas today I used Cornish Heritage Farms Cat in a Flowerpot Digital Stamp. I colored the image using a green Aquarelle pencil from the Mixed Media Aquarelle & Ink: GREEN set and Bubblegum and Cherry Red Gelatos from the Gelatos red pack.

For the canvas I created the grass and sky again using Gelatos …. loving those Gelatos! For the Grass I applied Pistachio and Green Tea from the Gelato green pack and blended these together. The sky I applied mostly Cotton Candy and a little Blueberry from the Gelatos Blue Pack. For the clouds I used the negative portion of a cloud die and added Picket White Distress Stain … however I would have preferred to use the white gelato which is also available but I didn’t have … I have one ordered and on it’s way Winking smile.

Stamps: Cat in a Flowerpot Digital Stamp – Cornish Heritage Farms
Other: Green Mixed Media Aquarelle & Ink set; Red Gelato Set; Blue Gelato Set; Green Gelato Set – Faber-Castell; Canvas.

For my first card today I have used Cornish Heritage Farms Antiques stamp set. To create my card I first stamped out this main image twice onto white card, one image stamped in black and the other stamped with versamark ink and the embossed using white powder.

On the white embossed panel I used the Faber-Castell’s Gelatos to create my background. I used the Pistachio from the Green Gelatos pack and Cotton Candy & Blueberry from the Blue Gelatos pack. This panel was then cut in half so it could be placed on either side of the main image.

On the panel stamped in black (the middle panel I then colored the image using Aquarelle Pencils and the Stampers Big Brush Pen from the Mixed Media Aquarelle & Ink: BLUE and Mixed Media Aquarelle & Ink: GREEN sets as well as Gelatos from the Red Gelatos pack.

The Circle piece as also colored as per the main panel. I stamped two butterflies from the stamp set onto white card using black ink and then colored these using colors in the Blue Gelatos pack.

Stamps: Antiques – Cornish Heritage Farms
Paper: White; Blue
Faber-Castell Products: Blue Mixed Media Aquarelle & Ink; Green Mixed Media Aquarelle & Ink; Blue, Green & Red Gelato Packs.
Other: Black Ink; Versamark Ink; White Embossing Powder; Foam Tape.

Look Whoo’s Turning 1!

C4C174 OwlBirthday wm

Hello everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week our challenge hostess Joanne continues to issue the challenges.

Let’s use lots of different textures on our cards…..emboss, corrugate, fibers, fabric,…..real or faux.

For my card today I used a Memory Box die Owl Heart Tree … how could I not get this die with those cute owls. I diecut all the pieces using cream card and then colored all the pieces using copics and my copic airbrush.

As for the texture … you can see the embossed texture on the tree, the leaves and the owls. I have also added googly eyes to each of the owls for more texture.

To create my grass I used the Die-namics Snow Drifts and Die-namics Fresh Cut Grass and embossed these pieces using an embossing folder and sponged with green ink for more visual texture. To finish my card I added the sentiment onto a Fishtail Flag and added a button and some hemp cord for more texture.

I will probably give this birthday card to my grand daughter ….she doesn’t know it yet but she loves owls Winking smile …. well I hope she does cause everyone is buying her lots of owl theme clothing etc and I know her brother loves owls. Yes that might be my influence hehe. Oh and no she won’t be 1 until November she is only just over 3 months old LOL! Nothing like getting an early start.

C4C174 OwlBirthday2 wm

Here is the inside of my card …. I added the tree and leaves again and also added another owl sentiment.
