Merry Christmas!

CCEE1248 Tilda wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time again with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Vicki Gould brings us her final challenge for the month.

This week Vicki has challenged us to Lace your ribbon (i.e. through a bracket, a piece of lattice work, or cardstock.

For  my card this week I used Magnolia’s Tilda with Dog which is a freebie I received with the latest Magnolia magazine … what fun!

For the lacing the ribbon part of the challenge I used my Martha Steward Linked Trim Border Punch, laced my ribbon through this piece and added a big bow to the bottom. I then attached this beside the Magnolia panel.

Here is the inside of my card, I added a sentiment to the designer paper layers.

Hi everyone,

It’s Wednesday which means it’s time for this week’s Wednesday Stamp Club sketch over on the MFT Stamps Member Forum of SCS. It’s another fun sketch!

GetSketchy_DesignTeamblinkie

For my card this week I used the MFT Stamps Pure Innocence Angel stamp set, this is so adorable!!!!!!!! I paper pieced the Angels dress using designer paper.

The base of this card uses Sno Cone Cardstock and the layers are Paver Red Cardstock. I added two Paver Red Buttons to the right side of my card along with some Hemp Cord.

The sentiment is stamped onto the Die-namics Rounded Banner STAX .

Christmas Wishes!

CHF ChristmasWishes wm

Hi everyone,

Today I have a card I created while playing around using Dylusions Sprays … the stamps used here are the Rummage Bin Night Before Christmas from Cornish Heritage Farms.

The background of the card for both pieces was created by spraying Postbox Red; Squeezed Orange and Pure Sunshine Dylusions to my card. After I let it dry, I placed a stencil over the top and spritzed it a little with water to get a pattern into the background.

On the bottom layer I then stamped the holly branches from the stamp set and colored these using Dylusions.

For the main piece I stamped the image twice, once onto the colored Dylusions panel and colored this also with Dylusions and then again on a white piece of card. this piece is also colored with Dylusions except for Santa’s face which is copics.

Stamps: Rummage Bin Night Before Christmas – Cornish Heritage Farms
Paper: White; Black
Other: Black Ink; Postbox Red Dylusions; Squeezed Orange Dylusions; Pure Sunshine Dylusions; Vibrant Turquoise Dylusions; Cut Grass Dylusions; Fresh Lime Dylusions; Glitter; Foam Tape

MFT Creative Challenge

SONY DSC

Hi everyone,

The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, we were challenged to Holiday Home Decor using our MFT Stamps and Die-namics.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today.

SONY DSC

I have been wanting to make and decorate one of these magazine/book trees for a few months now, so when this challenge came up it was the perfect time to do it.

This Christmas tree is created using an old catalogue or magazine. You can also make them out of books, but I am wary of ruining old books as I  had a friend who showed me an altered book she started some years back and I screamed when I saw it cause the book she used was one I had been searching for years for and still searching for now. The only way to get it is to pay hundreds of dollars which I am not willing to do. If you do want to use a book I suggest either a mills & boon or even buy something new.

To create the tree you need to take your magazine/catalog/book and first of all break the spine of the book. This was something I didn’t do when I made mine and it is much easier of you do that first.

MFT instruction wm

Next take the top right hand corner of the first page of your magazine/catalog/book and bring it down to the spine. Crease with a bone folder. (Sorry for the shine on the pages, this one is a glossy magazine and all I had at hand so I could show you how to do it)

MFT instruction2 wm

Now bring that folded edge that we created in the step above and again fold it over to the spine. Use a bone folder for best results. You will have a piece hanging down from the bottom of your book.

MFT instruction3 wm

Now fold that piece that was hanging down to the front of the piece you just folded. All you have to do now is to repeat these three steps until you have folded the whole book. Then when you stand it up you can shape it into a tree.

SONY DSC

For my tree I decided to spray it with gold paint (my DH sprayed it, I don’t think he trusted me with a spray can LOL). He sprayed two coats and once that was dry I then sprayed it with adhesive and added glitter over the whole tree. I have seen these just left plain too and they also look beautiful.
Once it was dry it was time to decorate my tree. I used the holly and berries from the Die-namics Jumbo Christmas Stocking around the bottom of the tree (this was my DH’s idea)

Around the centre of the tree I added the flowers using the Die-namics Poinsettia die. I also added distress stickle to each of the flowers. I added 7 flowers to my tree.

SONY DSC

On the top of my tree I used the Die-namics Jumbo Snowflake to create my star. I die cut the snowflake 6 times, I attached two together so it was double side and then with the remaining snowflakes I cut sections off so the snowflake because smaller and layered them onto the base snowflake. Finally I added a Paver Red Button and to each side of the snowflake.

The Poinsettia and Holly use Paver Red & Jelly Bean Green card. Here are the Die-namics I used to create my Christmas Tree.

From All of Us!

Riley2412 Christmoose wm

Hi everyone!

It’s challenge time again over on the Riley and Company blog. This week our challenge hostess is Kelly Santi.

Kelly has challenged us to create a card using the color scheme Burgundy, Old Olive and Cream and as a bonus, create a card/project with a theme of gratitude and thanks!

I have to confess that I got so carried away with the color challenge part of this challenge that I forgot about the bonus gratitude/thanks part so created a Christmas card instead.

I used the Riley Dog Walker Clear Set for my card this week, I just love this cute set!

Here is the inside of my card, the sentiment is from the Riley Carrying Tree Clear Set.

    For You!

    DylusionsTrio wm

    Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a few note cards I created recently at a stamp club that I go to each month. This time round we were playing with Dylusions!

    Dylusions3 wm

Here is a closer look at the first card. On this one I think I used Lemon Zest, Squeezed Orange and Postbox Red Dylusion sprays. After they had dried the first time I used a stencil that had circles on it and placed this over my card and then sprayed with Postbox Red Dylusions. Once that was dry I stamped the flower image using black ink. Not sure what the names of any of the stamps I used are as they weren’t my stamps.

    Dylusions1 wm

On this one I think I used Vibrant Turquoise, Bubblegum Pink & London Blue. After spraying the ink onto my card I covered it with salt let it dry and then brushed off the salt. I then stamped the image using black ink.

    Dylusions2 wm

And finally the last card I created. For this one it started out by comparing the two yellows in the Dylusions range, Lemon Zest & Pure Sunshine, I then added a little bit of Postbox Red. Once this was dry I covered the card with a flower stencil and spritzed it with water, and left it to dry again. Then I stamped the image using black ink.

    Stamps: All unknown
    Paper: White; Black
    Other: Lemon Zest; Vibrant Turquoise; London Blue; Bubblegum Pink; Postbox Red; Squeezed Orange; Pure Sunshine;
