Enjoy Your Birthday!

C4C48-Elephantbday-wm

Hi everybody,

Yahhhhhh it’s Saturday which means it is time for another challenge with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.

This week our challenge hostess for the month Jessie Rone finishes of the month with a fun sketch challenge … I just love sketch challenges. I actually flipped the sketch so the image was on the opposite side of the card as it suited my image better that way.

It was my sister’s birthday last week, and as she collects elephants I thought it would be fun to create a birthday card with an elephant on it so I decided to use this challenge for her card.

I used the cute “Ele-Fun” from High Hopes stamps which is available in the Paper Romance Store. I stamped 3 extra cupcakes onto scrap card and added them to the top left corner of my card.

C4C48-Elephantbday2-wm

Here is the inside of my card, it has been ages since I used these fun sentiments from Paper Inspirations.

On Your Christening!

CCEE1030-Christening-wm

Hi all!

It is challenge time again with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week Joanne Grzelak, our challenge hostess for July has another fun sketch for us. This is the final of the sketches Joanne has for us this month and like the others she has added a twist we have to follow. The twist this week is an image twist …. florals.

Now I know some of my CCEE friends are going to be ringing that buzzer for my card …. because my image isn’t floral, although if you look really hard you can see some tiny flowers on either side of the babies pillow. Normally I am the one who sticks strictly to the rules when it comes to challenges, but my Grandson’s Christening is coming up shortly and when I saw this sketch I knew it was perfect to go with the Baby Christening image I purchased from Lili of the Valley Ltd recently. If you haven’t seen this company already check them out they have some adorable stamps.

I did add the flowers around the oval shape my image is on so hopefully that will count for something ;)

CCEE1030-Christening2-wm

Here is the inside of my card, the sentiment is one I adapted after finding something online and used my computer to print it out.

PWC112-Your-Day-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s time for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge & Blog Hop. The hop starts off at the new Paper Pretties Blog, so if you didn't hop to my blog from there you might want to head on over there now!

This week the challenge is hosted by Heather Lee-Reppen who challenged us to use Glitter and Bling our card/project.

For my card today I decided to create a “T Slider Card” that was the project in a recent SCS newsletter. I used Paper Pretties Bubble Time Sophia to create my card. The designer paper is from one of my favorite companies … Kaisercraft and is from the Peachy Keen Collection which is also available from the Paper Pretties Boutique.

I added glitter to all the bubbles and I added Swarovski crystals to each corner of my main panel to bling it up.

Don’t “Moose” Out On Summer Fun!

Riley-MTSC82-Picnic-wm

Hi all!

It’s that time again when the Riley and Company Design Team members get together to play a challenge using our Riley stamps … love challenge day!

This week it is my turn to host the challenge and being that it is summer up in the Northern Hemisphere I decided to go with a “Summer Theme”. It’s winter down here right now, so maybe seeing some summer cards will warm me up hehe!

For my card I used the new “Picnic Riley” which was released last week. What summer is complete without a picnic! And this new “moose” sentiment is perfect for so many different occasions. I used a recent Mercy Tuesday Sketch challenge (MTSC82) for the layout of my card, I flipped the sketch because I liked that better for the way Riley is facing.

The sun is a jumbo brad I purchased on special recently … finally found a use for it.

Stamps: Picnic Riley; Don’t “Moose” Out – Riley and Company

Paper: White; Red; Yellow; DP
Other: Black Ink; Circle Nestabilities; Modern Label Tag Punch & Die; Jumbo Sun Brad; Foam Tape; Copic Airbrush; Copics

Tree Of Life!

chalked-tree-wm

Hi all,

I created this card some months ago at a stamp club I attend… I was sorting out my to upload file and found it sitting in there patiently waiting to be uploaded.

The background of this one was created using chalks. After apply the various colors of chalks I then stamps the tree using black ink. The sentiment was stamped on torn vellum and attached to my card using brads.

Sorry I can’t credit the stamp company of either the tree or sentiment as neither are my stamps and it was so long ago I have forgotten.

My New Hat!

C4C47-Girl-wm

Hi all!

It’s Saturday which means it is time for another challenge with the “crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog!

Jessica Rone our challenge hostess for July has given us an inspiration challenge. The inspiration piece was a picture of a bedroom scene which I have included below.

Well as soon as I saw the inspiration piece I was drawn to the polka dot bedspread and curtains and I knew exactly what designer paper I was using as I have had this paper for ages and hadn’t gotten round to using it … thanks Jessica for making me finally cut into it hehe. I also picked up the solid pink part of the bed head which I used for the base of my card and also by coloring in my image all pink, which by the way is from Lili of the Valley, a stamp company in the UK which has just delightful stamps.

PRC8-Choc-Teal-Girl-wm

Hi all,

It’s challenge time again over on the Paper Romance Challenge Blog. This week the hostess is Andrea Murdock, who has challenged us all to Color challenge using the colors chocolate, teal and white.

Well as I had created a card for Wednesday’s blog post using these exact same colors it was so easy to use the same range of designer paper that I had used for my other card …. I just used different designs so that it didn’t have the Christmas/winter feel that my other card had.

This time round I used one of the new High Hopes images which has recently been released this one is called “A Girl and her Overalls” …. isn’t she just adorable!!!!!!

Would you like to win a $5.00 Gift Certificate to Paper Romance One lucky challenge participant will be chosen randomly each week and announced at the following challenge. Hope Your Holidays Are A Hoot!

CCEE1029-Owly-Christmas-wm

Hi all,

My card today is for this week’s challenge with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. All this month Joanne Grzelak who is our challenge hostess for the July has been given us fun sketches to work with … but there is a twist we also have to follow.

Joanne’s twist for this week’s sketch challenge was a Christmas in July theme we had to make our cards either winter or holiday themed. Now Christmas for me is right smack in the middle of summer so I am not thinking winter when I think Christmas …. hehehehe.

Anyway I went searching in my Christmas stash for a stamp to use on my card and found this cute owl that I haven’t used for a couple of years which I thought would be perfect. I also decided to keep to traditional colors.

CCEE1029-Owly-Christmas2-wm

Here is the inside of my card, the sentiment is from MFT Stamps and I added the owl again in the bottom right corner.

My card also fits Cindy Haffner’s Dare to Get Dirty challenge over on SCS which was to create a card that includes a die and/or punches. The circle is of course a nestabilities die and the zigzag borders are created using the EK Success Zigzag border punch.

CCEE1029

Here is the sketch … remember to add the Christmas in July (Winter/holiday) twist if you decide to play along this week.

Hi everyone,

It is that time of the week again when the Prettie girls get together for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge & Blog Hop. The blog hop starts at our new Paper Pretties Blog so if you didn’t start from there hop back now …. I will wait for you *smile*.

This week the hostess of our challenge is Jackie Rakoski, who challenged us to create a Christmas card using non-traditional Christmas Colors! I have had this snowflake paper since just after last Christmas so I figured now was as good a time as any to use it hehe! I love the combo of the teal & brown colors.

For my card I used the Paper Pretties Snowy Snuggles set and even though it is summer during Christmas time down here, I do still make a few winter themed cards which I can send to my friends up in the northern part of the world.

PP111-Snowy-Snuggle2-WM

Here is the inside of my card, I decided not to use the sentiments included in the set I used on the front of my card but this lovely Snowflakes Falling sentiment as it matched the theme of my card with all those snowflakes everywhere.

MFT-Hand-Picked2-wm

First up the card I created, one of the things I love about this stamp set is that you have so many options on what to put inside WTG’s basket. There are 4 different fruits you can use … apples, strawberries, tomatoes & peaches. I started my card by stamping a whole bunch of WTG images and adding different things in her basket, then when I started coloring these images I noticed that 3 of these fruits could be colored red so decided to create a card that had 3 WTG images on it with a different fruit in each basket.

To give the basket some texture I colored the basket with my copics and then cut a piece of plastic shelving mat which I added a little copic blender fluid to and pressed this down on my basket. I paper pieced the girls shirt using the same designer paper I used on the base of my card and also added stitching to my card. The scallops along the bottom edge of my card was created using the MFT Die-namics Jumbo Scallop die.

MFT-Hand-Picked-in-wm

Here is the inside of my card using one of the sentiments included in the set … I added apples on either side of the strip of paper which makes it look a little like a table.

MFT-Strawberry-wm

My second project today uses the new Strawberry carton & strawberries template which is also being released today …. this is sooooooo much fun to create! You will find a tutorial on how to create this using the cricut & Make The Cut on Jody's blog.

MFT-Strawberry3-wm

This template comes to you with a variety of formats including:

  • PDF – for traditional print and cut
  • Ai (Adobe Illustrator) and DXF – used by Pazzles, KNK, and Wishblade Machines
  • GSD – for Silhouette
  • SVG - for Cricut with Make the Cut or Sure Cuts A lot software

As I have a cricut expressions and the Sure Cuts A lot software I was able to use those to cut out both my carton and my strawberries.

MFT-Strawberry4-wm

I created my strawberries using the same designer paper I used to create my card above … I had to make a special trip to get more DP hehe. To finish off my strawberries I used a cuttlebug flower die for the top which I cut from My Favorite Felt - Outdoor Essentials - and a green button and ribbon which I just knotted. These strawberries look great just as decorations or you could put a little something into the strawberries if you wanted.

Well now it is time to say goodbye to me and hop on over to the marvellously talented Michele Boyer's blog to see what she has created.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for dropping by!

A “Hi” From Riley!

Riley-Window-wm

Hi everyone,

I added texture to the circle directly underneath the Riley image to make it look like a wall of a house. This was done using the Tim Holtz brick embossing folder and then coloring it using my copic airbrush and dye ink.

The rest of the Riley and Company Design Team will also be sharing their cards they have created with you this week, so don’t forget to check them out too.

I will be back again tomorrow with another sneak peek to share with you all. Don’t forget the Riley & Company Blog hop which will be held on Thursday 22nd July starting at 10 PM EST.
