You're Out Of This World!

Hi I am back with another card to share with you today. As you all know my DH has been remodelling my stamping area ... well phase 1 is now complete ... well complete enough for me to replace all my stamping supplies ... boy is that a BIG job! I have the main part done .... the stamps; the papers etc ... just all those little things I need to find homes for. Anyway I worked on that all day yesterday and still have heaps to do but I just had to get out from under all that stuff and get some stamping done (the card that was uploaded earlier was made a week or two ago).

Oh and yes I will take photos of my new area later today and share with you all tomorrow.

My card today is for Beate's weekend sketch challenge ... one thing about having my storage system is that I can actually get to all that DP I purchased years back and haven't used cause it was such a drama to get to it. I saw this star DP yesterday while I was putting all my DP into their drawers so figured I would use it with the "Out of This World" set by Lizzie Anne Designs.

I used my rectangle nestabilities to cut my scallop rectangle to layer my main image on ... I did have to cut it down a little and rejoin it to get the size I needed. The ribbon was actually white ... I used my copics to get the color I needed. To finish off my card I punched out 3 small stars and attach them to my card ... adding a little bling to the centre of each star.

Recipe:
Stamps: Out of this World - Lizzie Anne Designs
Papers: White; Ballet Blue, Bordering Blue & Apricot Appeal - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Bordering Blue SU Ink; White Grosgrain Ribbon; Rectangle Nestabilities; Star Punch; Rhinestones; Copic Markers; Foam Tape

Fairy Tale Princess Shadow Box

Here is another shadow box I created recently using the Doodle Factory Fantasy stamps by Starving Artistamps.

Sorry about the blank panel where the sentiment should go, but I just received a stamp set from one of the DT's that I belong to that I just HAD to use on this card because it works soooooo perfectly with this theme ... unfortunately it isn't due for release until July so I can't post it on my blog just yet. I didn't want to wait 2 months to share this card with you as probably by then I would have forgotten I hadn't posted it.

Recipe:
Stamps: Doodle Factory Fantasy - Starving Artistamps
Paper: White: Pomegranate - SU; DP - DCWV
Other: Black Ink; Pomegranate SU Ink; Circle Nestabilities; Pink Brads; Corner Rounder; Score It Board; Spica Pens; Foam Tape

Dino of a Day!

I have another card to share with you today using the new "A Dino Day" set by H & M Stamps, these will be released Sunday 25th May. This is such a cute set and would be perfect for all ages ... young children always love dinosaurs and you could also use it for those older people in your life esp when they reach those milestone 40, 50 or 60th birthday .... hehehehehe!

I have probably already told you this but I love the new Basic Grey Papers ... especially the new Archaic range which is dinosaur themed, so of course I had to get it when I discovered that H & M Stamps would be releasing a Dinosaur set this month. I actually made this card before I made the owl card for this weeks WSC ... that I also used this DP on. I used black stazon ink to stamp the dinosaur prints on my jumbo brads.

Recipe:
Stamps: A Dino Day - H & M Stamps
Paper: White; Really Rust, Chocolate Chip & Always Artichoke - SU; Archiac DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Really Rust SU Ink; Black Stazon; Jumbo Rust & Brown Brads; Black Brads.

Viva la France!

My card today is for the "Our Favorite Flag" challenge that is being run on the Hanna Stamps Member Forum of SCS. We had to use the Patriotic Hanna mini set to create our card using any countries flag or colors. Hanna does come with the USA flag in her hand, but there is also another flag image you can use if you want to included in this set which is blank.

When I first heard of this challenge I immediately thought of France as I remembered that the Passport Hanna set has an image of the Eiffel Tower in it and also that it would be very easy to draw a French flag. Later on I remembered that I had some French buttons by Dress It Up which included some French flags .... so I decided to use one of those for my card.

Hanna has been cut out and is mounted over the Eiffel Tower using foam tape. I layered this image using my long rectangles nestabilities .... cutting out 2 scallop rectangles and joining to get the size required.

The ribbon is actually the red & white striped grosgrain ribbon by SU ... I wanted to be red, white & blue so I added some blue using my copic markers. The sentiment was created using my computer.

This challenge is one that has a prize which is a $25 gift voucher to Hanna Stamps .... there is still time to enter as you have until 5th June to upload your entries to SCS. You do need to use Patriotic Hanna though, so if you ordered why not give this challenge a go. I can't win cause I am on the Design Team ... I just wanted to play for fun! The winner will be drawn at the Hanna Stamps release party 6th June. For more details check out the link which I included above.

Recipe:
Stamps: Patriotic Hanna & Passport Hanna Sets - Hanna Stamps
Papers: White; Real Red & Night of Navy - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Long Rectangles Nestabilities; Blue Brads; Red & White Stripe Grosgrain Ribbon - SU; French Flag Button; Word Window Punch; Foam Tape

Cheeky Monkey!

Afternoon all ..... I am surrounded by stamping supplies everywhere here ... no not new ones! Remember I mentioned on Saturday that my DH was building my new stamping storage cupboards ... well 2 sections are now finished and he is planning on removing the old and putting up the new when he comes home from work today ... I had strict instructions to get all my stamping stuff ... paper/card; stamps; brads; ribbon etc etc out of them so this could be done. Just as well he didn't say I had to empty the 3rd section cause I don't know where I would be able to put that stuff.

Anyway I am excited that it is going to happen ... tonight I get my new paper storage area which will hold my A4 card (8.5 x 11 for those of you in the US or near enough) and my 12 x 12 DP. And also my new stamp drawers ... which will mean no stamps will be falling on my head anymore when I try to get them down from the top of the cabinet where they are now ... yahhhhhh! Not sure how long it will take me to put everything back in ... that might be slower then actually taking everything out LOL!

My card today combines two challenges ... the sketch which I always do and this week's color challenge which I haven't done for a while! The color challenge this week was to use sage shadow & chocolate chip .... I am really scrimping for choc chip ... just as well I had a few scraps. I really like sage shadow but haven't used it in ages!

The sketch this week is being guest hosted by my friend Amber ... fortunately she selected a nice simple sketch for this week, just what I needed! It means I can have it done before my DH comes home cause I know I will have to help him with the new shelving.

I got a few new stamps today so I was hoping one would work on the sketch challenge today ... I selected the "monkey love" set from C.C. Designs. The sentiment is from High Hopes stamps and is perfect for this little fella! I used my distressed stripes cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the top portion of my card. The DP is another of the archaic Basic Grey range and matches sage shadow so well. Finally I added my ribbon to the top of my card.

Recipe:
Stamps: Monkey Love - CC Designs; Sentiment - High Hopes
Papers: White; Sage Shadow & Chocolate Chip - SU; Archaic DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Brown Brads; Brown Grosgrain Ribbon; Distress Stripes Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Foam Tape

The Graduate!

Today's card uses another of the stamps from "Celebrate the Day" which was just released on Sunday by H & M Stamps. This set is great for those graduation cards many of you will be busy making soon.

I used a monochromatic color scheme for this one, with a touch of black to highlight. The layers were created using the circle nestibilities dies.

Recipe:
Stamps: Celebrate the Day - H & M Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Pomegranate & Rose Red DP - SU
Other: Black Ink; Black Brads; Circle Nestabilities; Pomegranate Grosgrain Ribbon; Foam Tape

Giraffe In The Jungle!

Happy Monday to you all, today's card is for this weeks MFT sketch challenge over on the MFT Members Forum of SCS.

Today I decided to use my "It's a Jungle" set from MFT. I stamped the giraffe onto white card .... then I stamped the grass area and the leaves above the giraffe. I sponged on some green in the grass area to fill in the grass and then sponge in the blue for the sky.

On another piece of white card I stamped the girl with binoculars ... I cut this out using my circle nestabilities .... I also used this for the layers.

The DP used here is another of the "archaic" range by Basic Grey .... this range of DP is getting quite a work out by me I love it!!!!!

I added brown brads to the strip down the right side of the card. To finish my card I added a photo corner to the top left hand corner.

Recipe:
Stamps: It's A Jungle Set - MFT
Paper: White; Always Artichoke & Chocolate Chip - SU; Archaic DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black; Old Olive SU Ink; Celeste Blue Impress Ink; Circle Nestabilities; Brown Brads; Photo Corner Punch; Foam Tape

Life's A Picnic!

I just love this new set by H & M Stamps called It's Picnic Time .... it is going to be released later today (Sunday 25th May). The sentiment & the giant sandwich are both from this set.

When I first saw this giant sandwich I immediately thought about my ant stamps ... I haven't used them for ages and what is a picnic without ants right hehe! First up I masked off the sign the ants normally carry using sticky tape and then stamped just the ants onto my white card. I then stamped the grass along the bottom of the card and the clouds to the top portion of the card. I stamped the sandwich onto a scrap of white card and cut it out and attached it onto my card so that it appears the ants are carrying it.

The red card on the base of this card has been stamped using Cornish Heritage Farm's dots & circles backgrounder in black ink. The sentiment is stamped onto white card and punched out using an oval punch.

Recipe:
Stamps: It's Picnic Time - H & M Stamps; Ants - Dawnstar Studio; Grass - Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers; Clouds - Mostly Animals; Dots & Circles - CHF.
Papers: White; Black; Real Red & Green Galore - SU
Other: Black Ink; Celeste Blue Impress Ink; Black Brads; Oval Punch; Foam Tape

Hot Dog!

I was glad to see that Beate's weekend sketch challenge was an easy one today ... as that meant I could get a quick card made for it. It is a fairly simple card so don't think I need to go into how I made it.

I am not sure how much stamping I will manage to get done this weekend as you see my DH has finally started revamping my stamping area ... he is outside as I type building my new shelving system to house my card/paper, stamps & many other bits and pieces. When he is almost ready to install it ... he will come inside and tell me to start removing everything off my existing shelves so he can remove the old ones and install the new ... I am looking forward to the finished product ... but not so much for the part about removing everything ... not even sure where I will be able to put it even temporarily LOL ... oh well ... I know it will be worth it in the end!

I know some of you have asked that you would like to see my stamping area ... I have not been ignoring you I promise .... just waiting until it is all done. When it is finished I will share some pics but it could be a little while yet.

Recipe:
Stamps: It's a Mod Mod World - The Cat's Pajamas
Paper: White; Garden Green, Night of Navy & Brocade Blue -SU; DP - KI Memories

Celebrate the Day!

Doesn't this little guy look cute?? This is another sneak peek of new stamps being released by H & M Stamps this Sunday 25th May. This time I am using the set called "Celebrate the Day". The set contains 5 images & 3 sentiments to help you celebrate occasions like 4th July, Graduations & Summer.

Here I have made a card to help celebrate 4th of July .... of course being an Aussie I don't have a need to make many 4th July cards but I did enjoy creating this one. I used my oval nestabilities to create my layers for my main image. The sentiment was stamped onto a punched out star and attached to the bottom right hand corner of the card.

Recipe:
Stamps: Celebrate the Day - H & M Stamps
Paper: White; Real Red & Ballet Blue - SU; DP - My Minds Eye
Other: Black Ink; Oval Nestabilities; Star Punch; Red Brads; Red Grosgrain Ribbon

Engaged!

It is time for another challenge with my fab/sassy friends on SCS. The majority of us in this group own Rubber Romance stamps .... so that was our challenge for this week to create a card using our Rubber Romance stamps. My friend Kim and I challenged ourselves even further by having to use a stamp that we own that we haven't used as yet. There are a couple of members who don't own Rubber Romance stamps as yet, so they were sent some images they could use.

As my daughter's sister in law to be just announced her engagement the other week, I decided to use "Emily is Engaged". I used Papertrey Ink's Pink Pattern DP to paper piece the dress and also for the background for this card. I attached a clear jewel over the engagement ring that is on her finger.

I cut two rectangle using the scallop rectangle nestabilities that were then joined to get the size I needed to layer my main image. The scallops along the bottom of the card were created using a corner punch.

Recipe:
Stamps: Emily is Engaged - Rubber Romance; Sentiment - Flourishes
Papers: White; Cameo Coral - SU; Spring Moss & Pink Patterns DP - Papertrey Ink
Other: Black Ink; Rectangle Nestabilities; Corner Punch; Hole Punch; Clear Jewel; Pink Ribbon; Pink & Green Flowers; Pink Brad; Foam Tape

Dino Shadow Box

I am back with another sneak peek for you today using some more of the new stamps by H & M Stamps. The stamps used here are from the new set called "A Dino Day", they will be released this Sunday 25th May. This card looks better in real life than it does in this pic .. it was really hard to get a fantastic photo of it.

As you can see I have made a shadow box card. The DP that I have used on the front of my shadow box is another from the Archaic range from Basic Grey. I used my oval nestabilities to create the hole in the front of the shadow box and also to create my scallop frame.

I stamped two palm trees on the inside of my box. The dinosaur is stamped using bordering blue onto some scrap white card and cut out and attached in front of the trees using foam tape. I stamped another tree on scrap card and cut out to attach to the front of my shadow box.

The sentiment in the set is actually in one long line ... I stamped it so it appears in two lines so I could use my oval punch to punch it out.

Recipe:
Stamps: A Dino Day - H & M Stamps
Paper: White; Always Artichoke -
SU; Archaic DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Bordering Blue
SU Ink; Old Olive & Dark Moss Fluid Chalk; Oval Nestabilities; Oval Punch; Brown Brads; Foam Tape

Throw One On The Barbie!

Yesterday I received this new set by H & M Stamps which is called "It's Picnic Time", so I just had to sit down and create this card last night so I could share it with you all today. This set and 2 others will be released this Sunday 25th May. "It's Picnic Time" contains 23 stamps which are food/picnic related. There are 9 fun sentiments/words that work well with the other stamps included in this set. I think this is a very useful set ... as you can see it includes a BBQ which is great for male cards & invitations etc. It would also be great for decorating recipes and cards for anyone who loves to cook.

My DH loves cooking BBQ's so that card will be perfect for him for his birthday or Father's Day I haven't decided which yet.

I also took the opportunity to play with Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch that can be found on her blog Poetic Artistry. There was an option for this sketch to use 3 different colors or patterns for the background panel ... I decided to stick with just 2 for this one. I used my paper piercing mat & tool to create 3 rows of paper piercing along the bottom of the card.

I will have another card to share with you later on in the week from one of the other new sets to be released this week .... in all there will be 3 new sets released.

Heather is also offering free shipping on all stamps on her site this week 19th - 25th May so now is a good time to order if you are wanting some stamps.

Recipe:
Stamps: It's Picnic Time - H&M Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Real Red & Night of Navy - SU; DP - Kaiser
Other: Black Ink; Oval Punch; Red Brads; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Foam Tape

Happy Birthday Cake!

This card is for this week's MFT sketch challenge on SCS and also Celebrate MFT Day which is always the 20th of every month. I need a few more birthday cards to add to my stash so I decided to use my "Take the Cake" set to make my card.

The colors of the card are taken from the DP I used which is from the Cupcake range by Basic Grey. I used my square nestabilities for the main image and my petite ovals nestabilities for the sentiment.

I did vary my card just a tad as I preferred my sentiment where I ended up putting it on my card and added the blue & red flowers to the bottom right corner of my main image.

Recipe:
Stamps: Take the Cake Set - MFT
Papers: White; Real Red & Not Quite Navy - SU; Cupcake DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Square & Petite Oval Nestabilities; Red & Blue Flowers; Blue Brads; Red Grosgrain Ribbon; Foam Tape

Friends Forever

It is time for another challenge with my goofball CCEE friends on SCS. This week we had to "go back to our roots and make a card with the very first stamp/stamp set you ever bought". I have to say I went .... arghhhhhhhhhhhh when I first saw this challenge. Why????? well because I have been stamping for almost 20 years and who can remember that far back not me. Anyway after consulting with my DD I think I have figured out that the stamp seen in this picture is my very first stamp I bought .... to the best of my knowledge anyway.

I stamped the image on white card and used my rectangle nestabilities to create my layers. I used my paper piercing mat & tool to add paper piercing along both edges of the so saffron panel.

Recipe:
Stamps: Friends Forever - Unknown
Paper: White; Pretty In Pink, So Saffron & Chocolate Chip - SU; DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Rectangle Nestabilities; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Brown Grosgrain Ribbon; Pink & Brown Flowers; Yellow Brad; Foam Tape

Welcome Little One!

Earlier this afternoon I decided to check out the featured stamper challenge on SCS. This week the featured stamper is Dawn McVey aka Dawnsing on SCS. After a little browsing through Dawn's gallery I decided to CASE this card of Dawns.

As per the rules of the featured stamper challenge I had to change at least 2 things ... I kept the colors and the baby theme of Dawn's cards but I did change the following:
  • Used the star wheel for my background
  • Substituted an image instead of a sentiment in the top panel of my card
  • Used my circle nestabilities
  • Used a different ribbon
  • Used a sentiment instead of a name for the bottom panel of my card

As you can see I ended up making 2 baby cards for this challenge .... it is just as easy to make 2 as one and it saved wasting some card. They are basically the same with just a few minor changes ...... I changed the colors for the layers of the circle, still not sure which one I prefer. I also used different sentiments ... in the top one I just stamped the sentiment on white card and used my word window punch to punch out the sentiment and attached that to my card. In the one below I used my stamp positioner and stamped the sentiment repeatedly along the card.

Recipe:
Stamps: Nursery Necessities; Classic Star Wheel - Stampin' Up
Paper: White: Bashful Blue & Brilliant Blue - SU
Other: Black Ink; Bashful Blue SU Ink; Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain Ribbon; Circle Nestabilities; Word Window Punch; Foam Tape

Whoot Whoot!

Today's card is for this weeks Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I thought it was about time I created another owl card ... and as I hadn't used my owl set from Cornish Heritage Farms .... of course I had to get it out and play.

I love the new Basic Grey papers and this is one from the "Archaic" range which I thought suited this owl. The owl is colored to match the green in the DP.

I stamped the branch onto my white card and the owl on a scrap piece of white card. The owl was cut out and attached to the branch using foam tape. I used my rectangle nestablities to created the scallop layer for the owl image .... cutting out 2 rectangles and joining them so get the size I needed. I also added paper piercing to the top right hand corner of this panel and also the mellow moss strip using my paper piercing mat & tool.

Recipe:
Stamps: U R A Hoot Set - Cornish Heritage Farms
Paper: White; Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip & Really Rust - SU; Archaic DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Rectangle Nestabilities; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon; Brown Brads; Foam Tape

Hey Sunshine!

Today's card is for this week's Hanna Stamps challenge over at the member forums of SCS. This week the challenge was to use a brayer in some way to create our cards.

I decided to use my brayer to create the background to my card ..... the sky & the sand. First up I tore a piece of paper and used this to mask the sand area of my card. I then brayered soft sky, cool caribbean & blue bayou ink in layers in the sky area. Blue Bayou was then sponged along the bottom of the sky area and also around the sides of the sky area. I then used the other piece of paper that I had torn to use to mask my sky and brayered the sand using so saffron .... I sponged more mustard around the sides of the sand area.

Hanna, the umbrella and the other images were stamped on white card, colored and cut out and attached to my card .... using foam tape for Hanna & the umbrella.

Recipe:
Stamps: Fun in the Sun; Things Hanna Would Say - Hanna Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Rose Red & Cool Caribbean - SU
Other: Black Ink; Soft Sky, Cool Caribbean, Blue Bayou, So Saffron & More Mustard SU Inks; Oval Punches; Label Punch; Brayer; Blue & Red Flower; Red Brad; Foam Tape

Once Upon A Time!

Yesterday I posted a card that I did for a challenge with my fab/sassy friends, the challenge was to create a card fit for a Princess. Last week I discovered a set called Doodle Factory - Fantasy available from Starving Artistamps which I thought would be perfect for this challenge .... as I had been looking at some of these stamps for a while and kept putting off purchasing them, I finally bite the bullet and ordered a couple of sheets. I had hoped that the stamps would arrive before I had to make my card for yesterdays challenge .... but on Tuesday when they hadn't arrived yet I went with plan B ... which until I had seen these other stamps had actually been plan A anyway.

Of course these stamps turned up yesterday after I had already uploaded my card. Of course I had to play with this new set and I decided to also do Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch which you can find at Poetic Artistry's blog.

I used my long rectangle nestabilities to create the scallop layer of the main image. The sentiment was created using my Karen Foster Snap stamps. I stamped the castle on my white card and the princess on a piece of scrap white, cut out the princess and layered her on my castle piece using foam tape. The Pink areas of the castle & the lavender areas of the dress were both colored over with my clear spica pen to add a touch of sparkle. I also added 2 purple gems to the princess' dress.

Recipe:
Stamps: Princess & Castle from Doodle Factory Fantasy - Starving Artistamps; Karen Foster Snap Stamps; Cloud - Mostly Animals
Paper: White; Elegant Eggplant & Pale Plum - SU; DP - Papertrey Ink
Other: Black Ink; Celeste Blue Impress Ink; Elegant Eggplant Grosgrain Ribbon; Purple Brads; Long Rectangle Nestabilities; Clear Spica Marker; Purple Gems; Foam Tape

For a Birthday Princess!

It is time for another challenge with my fab/sassy friends on SCS. This week my friend Kimme aka MerlenaPrincess is having a birthday so the theme for our cards this week is to make a card fit for a Princess.

I decided to use Jen's of Iheart2stamp's blog SFYTT for my card, this is such a fun layout. I used my Ella & Looloo stamp that I got about a month ago from Stamping Bella ... I so love this stamp!!!!!

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Recipe:
Stamps: Ella & Looloo - Stamping Bella; Sentiment - MFT
Paper: White; Regal Rose & Pretty In Pink - SU
Other: Black Ink; Spica Pens; Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Star Punch; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Pink Brads; Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon; Foam Tape, Gems

Becky!

I am not sure if I am 100% happy with this card .... but this is what I did for this week's sketch challenge over on SCS. I wanted to use my new stamp I received from Rubbernecker yesterday called Becky ... as I have a Becky how could I not buy this stamp LOL!

I think this is a pretty self explanatory card so I won't go on & on about it .... I used red pearls at the top and bottom of the card rather than brads. And I paper pierced the bottom left hand corner of my main image.

Recipe:
Stamps: Becky - Rubbernecker; Sentiment - Paper Pretties
Paper: White; Real Red, Ballet Blue - SU; DP - Unknown.
Other: Black Ink; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Red Grosgrain Ribbon; Red Pearls; Foam Tape

Goofball .... Golfball!

Some of you may be aware of my friend Cindy aka Mothermark. Well she is a bit of a character and is always making everyone laugh with her goofball antics. Well it was decided that we would surprise Cindy with a goofball challenge and send the cards we made to her.

We had a few guidelines we had to follow which was:
1. must have googlie eyes on it
2. must have polkadots on it
3. must tell a story
4. must be goofy!!!!

Well I think this card covers all those things. When I first heard of this challenge my first thought was to create a card that confused the word goofball with golf ball ... and then we were sent the guidelines so I did my best to combine the two.

I stamped my monkey and the golf ball onto white card and cut both images out. I had to make a few adjustments to the monkeys arms (cut them off and then attach them back again) so that they fitted the size of the golfball. I added the googlie eyes over the eyes of the golf ball ... I would have preferred oval eyes but as I didn't have any of these I went with what I did have.

I used my swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture to my oval panel ... this is my "polka dots" need for this card.

I created the sentiment on the computer .... I think this definitely tells a story.

And I am pretty sure this is a goofy card ... you don't see many monkeys holding golf balls I am sure!

The layout for this card is last week's SFYTT sketch from Jen at Iheart2stamp's blog.

Recipe:
Stamps: Monkey - alota Rubber Stamps; Golf ball - Impressive Stamps
Paper: White; Chocolate Chip; Old Olive - SU; DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Brown Grosgrain Ribbon; Word Window Punch; Brown Brads; Foam Tape

Rebus - Volcanoes or Valleys

Hi .... I know it was only last Friday that I posted a rebus puzzle for you ... but I have been a little behind uploading my rebus cards .... this is the one I did for April so this brings up back up to date now ... and there will not be another till May. As I haven't got anything else to share with you I thought I might as well share this with you.

Most of you did very well solving the last rebus I posted. Especially as there were a few "tricky" images this time round and what we call them is different depending on what country we are in. Here are the solutions to my "A Words" rebus:
  • Anything
  • Amber
  • Abandon
  • Allegro
  • Actor
  • Attic (this seemed to be the tough one I call that mark a tick and it seems you guys in the US call it a check)
  • Amazon
So how did you go?????

The rebus this week are the names of either Volcanoes or Valleys. To help the first 3 are Valleys which can all be found in Australia ... the next three are volcanoes and these ones can be found in either New Guinea or Italy.

Don't forget to comment if you want to play along.

Going Places!!

Last week when I went to the scrapbook store to get some more DP I found some great travel themed DP. So when it came time to create my card for this week's MFT sketch challenge over at the MFT member forum of SCS, I just had to use some of it.

The girl is stamped twice ... once on white card and once on the polka dot DP. I cut out the dress only from the polka dot DP and layered it over the white image. I also stamped the pair of bags onto white card.

I used my distressed stripe cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture to my red strip and my circle nestabilities for my sentiment.

Recipe:
Stamps: Goin' Places Set - MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red & Taken with Teal - SU; Travel DP - DCWV; Polka Dot DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Circle Nestabilities; Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon; Red Brads; Foam Tape
